01082016 Gospel Mt 14:13-21

When Jesus heard of the death of John the Baptist, he withdrew in a boat to a deserted place by himself. The crowds heard of this and followed him on foot from their towns. When he disembarked and saw the vast crowd, his heart was moved with pity for them, and he cured their sick. When it was evening, the disciples approached him and said, “This is a deserted place and it is already late; dismiss the crowds so that they can go to the villages and buy food for themselves.” He said to them, “There is no need for them to go away; give them some food yourselves.” But they said to him, “Five loaves and two fish are all we have here.” Then he said, “Bring them here to me,” and he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he said the blessing, broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples, who in turn gave them to the crowds. They all ate and were satisfied, and they picked up the fragments left over—twelve wicker baskets full. Those who ate were about five thousand men, not counting women and children.

Repleksiyon:

28072016 Gospel Mt 13:47-53

Jesus said to the disciples: “The Kingdom of heaven is like a net thrown into the sea, which collects fish of every kind. When it is full they haul it ashore and sit down to put what is good into buckets. What is bad they throw away. Thus it will be at the end of the age. The angels will go out and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.”

“Do you understand all these things?” They answered, “Yes.” And he replied, “Then every scribe who has been instructed in the Kingdom of heaven is like the head of a household who brings from his storeroom both the new and the old.” When Jesus finished these parables, he went away from there.

Repleksiyon:

27072016 Gospel Mt 13:44-46

Jesus said to his disciples: “The Kingdom of heaven is like a treasure buried in a field, which a person finds and hides again, and out of joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

Again, the Kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls. When he finds a pearl of great price, he goes and sells all that he has and buys it.”

Repleksiyon:

26072016 Gospel Mt 13:36-43

Jesus dismissed the crowds and went into the house. His disciples approached him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.” He said in reply, “He who sows good seed is the Son of Man, the field is the world, the good seed the children of the Kingdom. The weeds are the children of the Evil One, and the enemy who sows them is the Devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels. Just as weeds are collected and burned up with fire, so will it be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will collect out of his Kingdom all who cause others to sin and all evildoers. They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears ought to hear.”

Repleksiyon:

An Son of Man an nagtanum nan marajaw na bindi sa tanaman na buot ipasabot na tagtanum Nija an good seed, an Ija mga anak sa kalibutan.

Katapusan nan panahon an buot sa ipasabot nan harvest sanan an mga angels ‘sab an harvesters.

Sa pag-abot nan harvest time, kolektahon nan mga angel an mga sagbot, ‘katapos, sunugon ini, na buot ipasabot ‘sab na kolektahon an mga tawo na amo’y hinungdan nan pagpakasaya, sanan an tanan mga evildoer.

Sunugon ini sa kayajo na nagdilaab diin may mga wailing sanan grinding of teeth pero an mga matarong, mag-shine sila amo ra nan suga sa Kingdom nan ila Father.

Kinahanglan pamatian kuno nan mga may talinga an susambingay.

25072016 Gospel Mt 20:20-28

The mother of the sons of Zebedee approached Jesus with her sons and did him homage, wishing to ask him for something. He said to her, “What do you wish?” She answered him, “Command that these two sons of mine sit, one at your right and the other at your left, in your Kingdom.”

Jesus said in reply, “You do not know what you are asking. Can you drink the chalice that I am going to drink?” They said to him, “We can.” He replied, “My chalice you will indeed drink, but to sit at my right and at my left, this is not mine to give but is for those for whom it has been prepared by my Father.” When the ten heard this, they became indignant at the two brothers.

But Jesus summoned them and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and the great ones make their authority over them felt. But it shall not be so among you. Rather, whoever wishes to be great among you shall be your servant; whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave. Just so, the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Repleksiyon:

Waya lamang magpalandong an nanay nila James sanan ni John na an ija tangajo kan Jesus para sa ija mga anak dili mahihatag dila kay an Ija ra man Father sa heaven an magahatag sa Ija tagpreparahan na hatagan.

Mahimo na maantos nila kon uno man an dangatan kan Jesus pag-abot nan panahon, pero, an paghatag nan ingkuranan sa tuo sanan sa waya ni Jesus didto sa langit, si God ra an magbuot.

Kon sin-o kuno an gusto na mahiuna, kinanghan kuno mahimo na suluguon parehas nan Son of Man na nokanhi sa lupa dili kon para silbehan kundili kon para Sija magsilbe sanan mag-sakripisyo sa Ija kinabuhi para masalbar lamang an mga kasay’anan nan mga katawhan.

21072016 Gospel Mt 13:10-17

Then his disciples came to him and said, “Why do you speak to them in parables?”

Jesus answered, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but not to these people. For the one who has will be given more; and he will have in abundance. But the one who does not have will be deprived of even what he has. That is why I speak to them in parables; because they look and do not see; they hear; but they do not listen or understand.
In them, the words of the prophet Isaiah are fulfilled: However much you hear, you do not understand; however much you see, you do not perceive.

For the heart of this people has grown dull. Their ears hardly hear and their eyes dare not see. If they were to see with their eyes, hear with their ears and understand with their heart, they would turn back, and I would heal them.

But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear.

For I tell you, many prophets and righteous people have longed to see the things you see, but they did not see them; and to hear the things you hear, but they did not hear them.

Repleksiyon:

20072016 Gospel Mt 13:1-9

On that day, Jesus went out of the house and sat down by the sea. Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat down, and the whole crowd stood along the shore. And he spoke to them at length in parables, saying: “A sower went out to sow. And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path, and birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky ground, where it had little soil. It sprang up at once because the soil was not deep, and when the sun rose it was scorched, and it withered for lack of roots. Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it. But some seed fell on rich soil, and produced fruit, a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold. Whoever has ears ought to hear.”

Repleksiyon:

Sunod, nahuyog an iban sa dugi-on na lupa ‘katapos, dungan an binhi sanan mga dugi motubo despuwes, napitlok nan dugi an tanum amo na patay dajon.

Dinhi, madali ra karajaw hisab’ti an mga pulong ni God pero tungod sa mga problema, madali ra ‘sab hikalimti an mga pulong.

Pero an binhi na nahuyog sa matambok na lupa, namunga nan prutas, duro karajaw na mga prutas an bunga.

Sin’o man an may talinga, kinahanglan mamati gajud.

19062016 Gospel Mt 12:46-50

While Jesus was speaking to the crowds, his mother and his brothers appeared outside, wishing to speak with him. Someone told him, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, asking to speak with you.”

But he said in reply to the one who told him, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?” And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my heavenly Father is my brother, and sister, and mother.”

Repleksiyon:

18072016 Gospel: Mt 12:38-42

Some of the scribes and Pharisees said to Jesus, “Teacher, we wish to see a sign from you.” He said to them in reply, “An evil and unfaithful generation seeks a sign, but no sign will be given it except the sign of Jonah the prophet. Just as Jonah was in the belly of the whale three days and three nights, so will the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights. At the judgment, the men of Nineveh will arise with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and there is something greater than Jonah here.

At the judgment the queen of the south will arise with this generation and condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and there is something greater than Solomon here.”

Repleksiyon:

Tagpadajon ni Jesus an Ija paglinaw na amo ‘sab kuno ini an mahitabo sa Son of Man sa kasing-kasing nan kalibutan.

Sa pag-hukom, ikondenar nan mga taga-Nineveh an ato henerasyon kay nakapghinul’sol man sila sa pagtudlo ni Jonah, pero may mas hataas pa kuno kan Jonah dinhi sa kalibutan.

Amo ‘sab gihapon para sa queen of the south kay pamatian man ‘sab nija an pagka-balaanon ni Solomon, pero amo ‘sab gihapon, may mas hataas pa kan Solomon.

Actually, an gusto i-insister ni Jesus dinhi an ato paghigugma sa ato isigkatawo na sa kamatuoran, amo’y basehan na judgment ni God dato.

Waya mabalhin si God. Puro pa gihapon an Ija gugma dato. Tangandoy Nija na maparihas kita Dija, may puro na pagmahal.

14072016 Gospel Mt 11:28-30

Jesus said: “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.”

Repleksiyon:

Nan an ulitawo pa ako, abe nako kon an kanta ni Basil Valdez na “Lift Up Your Hands,” isa ra sa mga popular na kanta na abir kon hain, puwede kantahon, bisan hubog an magkanta.

Paborito namo kantahon ini kon mag-sing-along kami (waya pa’y videoke niadto) sa amo mga inuman kay bagan marajaw man an melody nan kanta, only to realize kuman na an lyrics baja nan ini, pangadje baja sa ato adlaw-adlaw na kinabuhi.

Gusto nako ipa-ambit dijo an lyrics nan ini na kanta ni Basil Valdez (credits: www.lyricsmode.com):

Life is not all that bad, my friend, hmmm
If you believe in yourself
If you believe there's Someone
Who walks through life with you
You'll never be alone
Just learn to reach out,
And open your heart
Lift up your hands to God,
And He'll show you the way.

And He said, "Cast your burdens upon Me
Those who are heavily laden,
Come to Me, all of you who are tired
Of carrying heavy loads,
For the yoke I will give you is easy
And My burden is light,
Come to Me and I will give you rest."

When you feel the world
Is tumblin' down on you,
And you have no one
That you can hold on to,
Just face the rising sun
And you'll see hope,
And there's no need to run
Lift up your hands to God,
And He'll make you feel all right.

And He said, "Cast your burdens upon Me
Those who are heavily laden,
Come to Me, all of you who are tired
Of carrying heavy loads,
For the yoke I will give you is easy
And My burden is light,
Come to Me and I will give you rest."

Salamat karajaw sanan God bless.

13072016 Gospel Mt 11:25-27

At that time Jesus exclaimed: “I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.”

Repleksiyon:

Tagpasalamatan ni Jesus an Father sa langit kay tagpakita Nija sa mga disciple an Ija kinaadman sanan hibayo dila.

12062016 Gospel Mt 11:20-24

Jesus began to reproach the towns where most of his mighty deeds had been done, since they had not repented. “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would long ago have repented in sackcloth and ashes. But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you. And as for you, Capernaum:

Will you be exalted to heaven? You will go down to the nether world.

For if the mighty deeds done in your midst had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.”

Repleksiyon:

Dili kuno mahitabo an milagro kon waya’y hugot na pagtuo.

Kita ‘sab, uno kaha kalayum an ato pagtuo kan Jesus?

Maka-himo kaha nan milagro an ato pagtuo?

Kinahanglan pa kaha nan milagro para motuo kita kan Jesus?

11072016 Gospel Mt 10:34-11:1

Jesus said to his Apostles: “Do not think that I have come to bring peace upon the earth. I have come to bring not peace but the sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and one’s enemies will be those of his household.

“Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and whoever does not take up his cross and follow after me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

“Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me. Whoever receives a prophet because he is a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward, and whoever receives a righteous man because he is righteous will receive a righteous man’s reward. And whoever gives only a cup of cold water to one of these little ones to drink because he is a disciple–amen, I say to you, he will surely not lose his reward.”

When Jesus finished giving these commands to his Twelve disciples, he went away from that place to teach and to preach in their towns.

Repleksiyon:

Uno man na kasamok, pagka-bahin-bahin sanan giyera man gajud an termino na taggamit ni Jesus sa pag-describe nan Ija misyon sanan an pag-abot nan kaharian ni God, sanan an pagkanhi Nija sa kalibutan, dili kuno kon daya Nija an kalinaw kundili an espada?

08072016 Gospel Mt 10:16-23

Jesus said to his Apostles: “Behold, I am sending you like sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and simple as doves.

But beware of men, for they will hand you over to courts and scourge you in their synagogues, and you will be led before governors and kings for my sake as a witness before them and the pagans.

When they hand you over, do not worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say. You will be given at that moment what you are to say. For it will not be you who speak but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

Brother will hand over brother to death, and the father his child; children will rise up against parents and have them put to death. You will be hated by all because of my name, but whoever endures to the end will be saved. When they persecute you in one town, flee to another.

Amen, I say to you, you will not finish the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.”

Repleksiyon:

07072016 Gospel Mt 10:7-15

Go, and proclaim this message: The kingdom of heaven is near. Heal the sick, bring the dead back to life, cleanse the lepers, and drive out demons. Freely have you received, freely give. Do not carry any gold or silver or money in your purses. Do not take a traveling bag, or an extra shirt, or sandals, or a walking stick: workers deserve to be compensated.

When you come to a town or a village, look for a worthy person, and stay there until you leave.
When you enter the house, wish it peace. If the people are worthy people, your peace will rest on them; if they are not worthy people, your blessing will come back to you.

And if you are not welcomed, and your words are not listened to, leave that house or that town, and shake the dust off your feet. I assure you, it will go easier for the people of Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment, than it will for the people of that town.

Repleksiyon:

05072016 Gospel Mt 9:32-38

A demoniac who could not speak was brought to Jesus, and when the demon was driven out the mute man spoke. The crowds were amazed and said, “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.” But the Pharisees said, “He drives out demons by the prince of demons.”

Jesus went around to all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom, and curing every disease and illness. At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.”

Repleksiyon:

Tagdaya kan Jesus an tawo na pua na tag-sangunan nan demonyo nan pagkatapos Nija bugawa an demonyo sa tawo, nakasulti an ini.
